Situated on the Norfolk/Suffolk border there’s plenty to explore and do, enjoying the local towns, history and coast. Whether you’re on your own, a couple or friends, with options for twin or double bed, the accommodation is flexible.
Visit England awarded a 4* rating to Kingfisher cottage and the cottages have either an M1, M2 or M3a Mobility rating making them easily accessible for wheelchair users and those with limited mobility. Plus with south facing patio gardens overlooking the pond, they’re the perfect location for relaxation and bird watching. Our cottages all come with free WIFI and excellent amenities. Well behaved dogs are welcome.
Wonderful places to visit
Centrally located between Bury St Edmunds and Diss on the Norfolk border, the cottages are ideally placed for exploring the region and within easy driving distance of the Norfolk Broads and the Norfolk/Suffolk Heritage coastline.
The local area is good for walking and cycling with many footpaths, quiet lanes and byways to explore, and plenty of village pubs along the way. Many of East Anglia’s pretty villages and historic houses and gardens are within easy reach and there is a wide variety of attractions and days out to choose from.
Just a mile down the road in Walsham le Willows there is a village pub, minimart and a local butcher/grocery. A five minute drive away in Rickinghall there is a Co-op store, Doctor/Pharmacy, Chinese Takeaway and Fish & Chip shop. There are many local country pubs in the neighbouring villages providing plenty of choice for eating out. The Hot Frog Bar is open in the village hall Friday and Saturday evening.
Suffolk is known as the county of big skies and there are many ways to enjoy the area for all ages.
Visit lovely villages and historic houses including the Sandringham Estate, Framlingham Hall or Holkham Hall.
Head for the coast and enjoy the beaches from bustling Yarmouth and Lowestoft, to popular Southwold and Aldeburgh, or walk for miles on the stunning beach at Holcombe.
Take it easy and explore the Norfolk Broads by boat or take in the views during a ride on the Mid- Suffolk Railway.
Further afield a trip to Newmarket can provide a days racing or a visit to the Horse Racing Museum followed by a lovely lunch, with a stop at Ely Cathedral on the way home. Alternatively pop down to Cambridge and take a punt along the river before enjoying afternoon tea.

Jayes Holiday Cottages
Kingfisher and Woodpecker Cottages are, purpose built with either an M1 M2 and M3a mobility rating making them highly suitable for wheelchair users or those with limited mobility. Each cottage sleeps 2 people in one bedroom (made up as a twin or with beds pushed together on request), a large walk-in shower/wetroom and an open plan kitchen living area. The cottage private patio gardens overlook a wildlife pond where bird life is encouraged with feeders and nest boxes. An annual influx of ducklings and young moorhens are usually happy to help tidy up any breakfast crumbs.
Both cottages have ample parking and free WIFI. The cottages are open to all, and also have a range of aids to help with mobility, with level floors, wide doorways, handrails in the bathrooms and other mobility aids on request. With an M3A rating Woodpecker cottage is fully wheelchair accessible and has high rise toilet with handrail and a lowered sink and lowered hob. Well behaved dogs are welcome. and there is access to off road walking 40 metres down the lane.
